Lakshmi is Professor of English at the University of Allahabad. Penguin India published his first novel - The Tailor's Needle - in December 2012 and he has also published a collection of stories, Marriages are Made In India.

2016 will see publication by The Paris Press/White Glove of a second collection of short
fiction, Intriguing Women,  and he has recently completed a second literary novel, Emancipation
